343 challenge

Tuesday, May 25

go HERE for daily updates & inspiration!

it's time.
i'm at that point in my life (again)...
i need a challenge.
i need something to:
push me...
strengthen me...
inspire me...
and frankly...
i need a personal focus.

we've all heard it before.
as women, we tend to put everyone else's needs ahead of our own.
and i believe strongly in the adage that you HAVE to take care of yourself first in order to better take care of those around you.

so...
i've come up with the "three for three" challenge.
it's a personal fitness challenge i've set for myself...
a small fitness challenge to help "jump start" my ultimate fitness goals.
(and those goals...in a nutshell...are to get me in the best shape of my life).

so what is the THREE for THREE challenge?
THREE miles everyday for THREE weeks.
THREE for THREE...
no matter what...
rain, shine, sickness, busy day, tired, irritable, no time...
whatever the hurdle...
there are NO EXCUSES!
i will walk three miles everyday. (& maybe jog a little too).
EVERYDAY...
for THREE weeks...
21 days.
63 miles.
period.

starting right. now.
who's with me?

KEEPING IT REAL
i actually walked 3 miles last night and that's when i conjured up this whole challenge idea!
BUT...i'm not counting last night's walk because i hadn't posted the challenge.
it's selfish...really. i NEED the accountability from you guys! *wink*
so...em & i laced up our shoes at 5:45a.m. and we were out the door by 6a.m. this morning.
what a great way to start the day...right?
honestly...afterwards, i was completely tired and wanted to take a nap by 9a.m.
(i'm thinking it was because it started to rain/drizzle and that weather makes me sleepy).
i'm not THAT much of a wimp. and i DIDN'T take that nap i was longing for either.
i made good use of my time and blogged instead...*wink*

I love it. I'm not a runner, but I decided to run 2.5 miles the other day and seriously...I was ill the next day! Good for you! We all need those fitness goals. Mine is just to get to the gym. Doing something meaningful once I've checked my daughter into the child care...well, that's another story! I love your 343 challenge - and it sounds cute too. Working out should have SOMETHING cute about it. I will look forward to hearing about your 3 miles everyday :) I am planning on holding you accountable :) Lucky for you that your daughter is old enough to join you!

BACA Creative posted some free downloadable healthy goals lists to track how you're eating also in addition to noting how often you work out in a week. Just found them this week and need to put them to good use!

'Sorry for removing my comment before. I goofed and couldn't back space-LOL.

I am so proud of you, Jess. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I would like to commit to exercising at least 3 times a week. Maybe I can bump it up to 5 times or even every day.

Thank you so much, Jess. You are the best!

Hugs,

Renee
P.S. Best Wishes to everyone!

We are still at it :) And here is the funny thing... My mom commented that she would be joining me. On the second day as we were walking and talking I said "Gosh, we picked the hottest 3 months to do this!!" My mom was like "What??" I said the next 3 months of 343. That is when she told me I read it wrong and it was 3 weeks... not 3 months :) I am already planning my walking into August :)

Hope you are still keeping up!! Thanks for the challenge, it's been GREAT!!!
